Dude Stuff

This photograph is a contrast to the previous photograph as it contains products that are stereotypical of a teenage boy.

Pink, sparkle and fluff

This photograph is an example of the materials that a teenage girl is 'supposed' to be interested in.
The explosion of pink expresses the idea that pink is generally expressed as a very feminine colour. This is a complete contrast to the material culture that a teenage boy should be interested in.

Beach Barbie

These barbies are all identical and there are so many of them. There is also alot of pink involved. The perfect 'girly' toy.

The accessories the barbies have also have alot to say about what a girl should use or look like e.g. the pink handbag and the barbie make up hmm.

Hot Wheels

This is part of the boy'f floor and it seems to be the Hot wheel section as all the toys in this area contain the logo. There is also the strong element of 'boyish' colours.
This shows the mass consumption of hot wheel products.

Girl's floor Vs Boy's floor?

This photograph expresses the difference between the two floors. The bottom floor consists of the girly toys and it is therefore bursting with pink and glitter and it has very bright lights whereas the top floor contains blues, reds, yellows and greens and has much darker lights.

There are also rows of cars on the boy's floor and there are dressing up dresses on the girl's floor.

Little girl and barbies

This image shows a little girl, almost fascinated by the barbie doll collection on display. The whole image deeply connects the concept of females and dolls. The poster on display is another factor that expreses this.

Plastic knights

The rows of toy knights, just as the barbies are arranged for the girls surrounded in pink. The knights are arranged in rows surrounded in darker, 'boyish' colours.

Clocks for genders

This photograph shows the exdpected contrast between boys and girls, the clocks are specifically made to suit a gender. The pink clock with the fairy is specifically for girls and the red clock with a footballer is specifically for boys.

My Little Pony

This photograph expresses the excess amounts of my little pony toys available. Within the photograph it is interesting to analyse the colours as very light pastel colours are being used for the products.

Hello kitty corner

This is the Hello Kitty section on the girl's toy floor, Hello kitty is highly focused on girls who are 'tweens' this is the age group who are between children and teenagers. There is still the element of pink within the photograph.
Hello kitty itself has a very differen significance in Japan where is originates, it is a much more teenage and adult material product.

Toy truck corner

This image expresses the mass consumption of toy trucks. The photograph shows many different types of toy trucks that may be purchased.
This section within the toy shop is a highly male area and therefore stocks the different toys that are stereotypically for young male consumers.
There is also the idea of the brand CAT making toys for young boys, this brand is well establihsed within 'the real world of consumer goods' and it is interesting that they also make children's toys.
